The exhibition Red Birds on Green Tree - Works from the international collection of the Sara Hildén Foundation celebrates the Sara Hildén Art museum's 45th anniversary by presenting key artists and works from the Sara Hildén Foundation's international collection from the early 20th century to the present day.

Sara Hildén Art Museum will not move to the Finlayson area 

The construction of a new building for the Sara Hildén Art Museum in the Finlayson area has been abandoned. The City of Tampere, the Sara Hildén Foundation and Mutual Pension Insurance Company Varma have jointly stated that the proposed building site in the centre of Tampere does not serve the museum's needs for development. The museum will continue to operate in its current premises. 

Jean-Michel Othoniel exhibition at Sara Hildén Art Museum

From June 8 2024, the Sara Hildén Art Museum will be presenting the latest work by French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel, including glass artworks, metal artworks and paintings.

Sara Hildén Art Museum is proud to present Thomas Houseago’s first exhibition in the Nordic countries. Thomas Houseago is a world-renowned artist, known for sculptures in plaster, rebar, bronze and wood. For this exhibition, the British-born artist is also presenting new paintings and sculptures in redwood and plaster including responding to work in the collection of the Sara Hildén Foundation, Alberto Giacometti's (1901–1966) sculpture Woman on a Chariot (1943, 1962).
